Liquidambar Worplesdon also known as Sweet Gum. A deciduous tree with a pyramidal habit. The leaves resemble those of maple.
When the leaves emerge in the spring they are a vibrant green. The tree is at its best in the Autumn when its leaves turn yellow gradually turning to orange, red and then a deep claret colour before they finally fall off.
This really is a stunning tree often displaying the full range of colours on the tree at the same time. It can flower in the spring but this tends to be intermittent and inconspicuous it is really prized for its stunning foliage.
